Inspired by philosopher Gaston Bachelard’s concept of the psychological, emotional significance of rooms and houses, For a Dreamer of Houses presents contemporary artworks that evoke personal spaces and considers the politics of places we identify with. The exhibit requires a $9 ticket with discounts for seniors, students, and military. DMA Members and children 11 and under are free. In challenging times like these, we can all use a little Christmas magic to brighten up our lives. Celebrate the season and make lasting memories at one of our three drive-through, COVID safe, family-friendly light show spectaculars!

Radiance! A Holiday Light Spectacular is set to light up North Texas from Wednesday, Nov. 11 to Sunday, Jan. 3. It will debut in Frisco, Weatherford and Decatur.

It is more than a mile long and will take about 20 to 30 minutes to drive through the entire experience. A special Radiance! radio station frequency will be provided for guests to enjoy iconic holiday tunes as they experience the wonder which includes 160 feet of animated RGB light tunnels.

Food and beverages and special items, including hot chocolate, cookies, unique holiday treats, LED balloons, glow stick cotton candy and more, will be available for purchase from the comfort of the car.

General admission tickets are $30 per vehicle. A VIP admission ticket for $50 per vehicle includes hot chocolate for each guest in the car, special Magic Light Glasses for each child, and a dedicated VIP lane, which reduces guests wait time on busier days.

Strict health and safety protocols will be in place. Cars, SUVs and trucks are permitted but limousines, buses, RVs and any vehicle with a trailer are not allowed.

Working together to save the lives of thousands of dogs and cats, guests are encouraged to bring gifts from anywhere to be wrapped by Esther Mooring and her team of volunteers in exchange for a small donation that supports Operation Kindness’ mission to care for homeless animals in a no-kill environment until each is adopted into a responsible home. Gifts do not need to be purchased from Barnes & Noble to be wrapped – guests may bring gifts from anywhere for gift-wrapping.

Panther Island Ice returns this holiday season. Fort Worth’s outdoor ice skating rink will operate seven days a week at Coyote Drive-In from November 20 through January 18 including all holidays! The rink is real ice located mostly under a large pavilion. This year all tickets must be purchased online with an advanced reservation to minimize in-person contact. With the help of the community, Operation Kindness alongside the Humane Society of North Texas, Irving Animal Services, Fort Worth Animal Care and Dallas Animal Services ensures that homeless animals in North Texas have everything they need to feel warm, cozy and safe this winter. As a multi-citywide collaboration, Operation Kindness joins other North Texas animal shelters to host the Comfort and Joy Donation Drive. Donations of blankets, toys, treats and canned food will go toward helping animals in need until they find a loving, responsible home.
